Vaginas, penises, mouths, breasts and anuses, in the porn world they can be everywhere and from everyone. Because of this reason, probably unintentional, porn reveals a deep truth of life. The different body parts do not belong to somebody: the body is brought back to its physical essence.

In the installation Existential Needs you see a wooden fence, with brown stains on it. Applied on this fence you find artefacts, pictures and small sculptures, all are made from porn magazines. The raw images, the broken wood, the handicraft emphasise the physicality of life.

With Existential Needs Bokma takes this physicality even one step further. The installation shows how the body disintegrates and is nothing less than different materials.
